A Gift of Care: KPA Donates Ambulance to Oommen Chandy Charitable Trust
Today was a day filled with meaning, compassion, and hope, a day that reminded us of the power of community and the enduring spirit of service. In the heart of Olavanna, the Kerala Pravasi Association (KPA) Trust handed over a fully equipped ambulance to the Oommen Chandy Charitable Trust, fulfilling a vital need and a heartfelt promise. The symbolic handover was led by Kerala’s Opposition Leader, Shri V.D. Satheesan, at the Aishwarya Auditorium. As the keys were placed in the hands of the Trust, it wasn’t just a vehicle being delivered, it was the delivery of a lifeline for a community. The event also marked the official launch of the Oommen Chandy Charitable Trust, along with the announcement of a housing project aimed at supporting underprivileged families. As the late Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy’s legacy of compassion continues, his daughter Dr. Maria Umman stood with pride and emotion among those present. For KPA, this moment was deeply personal. The Trust has always believed that those who step forward to serve others should never stand alone. That’s why, when the Oommen Chandy Charitable Trust shared its dream of launching a 24/7 ambulance service to support the people of Olavanna, regardless of caste, creed, or political affiliation and KPA did not hesitate. Today, that dream was realized. The ceremony was graced by numerous dignitaries and well-wishers, including Mr. A. Shiyali (Chairman, Oommen Chandy Charitable Trust), Mr. Sujith Kanjoli (Vice Chairman), Mr. P. Arsal (Secretary), Adv. K. Praveenkumar (DCC President), Adv. P.M. Niyas (KPCC General Secretary), Mr. N. Subrahmanian (Member, KPCC Political Affairs Committee), Mr. Dinesh Perumanna (DCC General Secretary), Mr. Ravikumar Panoli (President, Peruvayal Block Congress Committee), Mr. P. Kannan (President, Olavanna Mandalam Congress Committee), and Mr. Maneesh Adummal (Trustee Member). The ambulance will now serve the people of Olavanna, a moving tribute to a leader who lived to serve, and to those carrying that torch forward.
