About Rajendran Vellapalath

Rajendran’s love for his country and countrymen, his astute business vision and eye for business and the will to push boundaries beyond what is perceived possible, have seen his life devoted to building businesses, creating jobs and working towards the welfare and betterment of Malayalees in the UAE and the Middle East.

Born in Kanniparamba, Kerala in India, Rajendran Vellapalath started his career in Sales. He moved to the UAE nearly 30 years ago, building a strong network of equally passionate peers who share his drive and dynamism with a vision of building a strong and self-reliant Kerala. 

He has spent over two decades in the aviation industry, when he joined Emirates Airline in 1998 and then later moved to Singapore Airlines in the year 2005. He also led regional operations for South African Airways from 2006 to 2010. In 2010, he became Vice President Corporate Strategy and Planning for RAK Airways followed by his role as Commercial Director of Rotana Jet. He has also contributed immensely in empowering Airlines and Travel Management Companies, when he launched TPConnects Technologies.

 

Today, TPConnects is the region’s leading provider of SaaS-based travel technology solutions, helping airlines and travel agencies to retail travel. It was the first IT Provider and Travel Aggregator to receive Dual Level 4 certification from International Air Transport Association (IATA). TPConnects’ NDC based Technology is being used by worlds largest airlines including Saudi Arabian Airlines, Egypt Air, Air Mauritius, Sri Lankan Airlines, Singapore Airlines etc. The australian-based Flight Center Travel Group acquired a majority stake  (70 percent) in TPConnects in 2022. Rajendran continues to share his knowledge and experience to the team as Board Member of the company.

 

In his latest venture, Rajendran is all set to launch Voizzit, a  instant messaging, social media, and mobile payment app that will allow users to stay in touch with friends and family, anytime and anywhere, chat, post stories, share locations, call and live video streaming, conferencing, shopping , make travel arrangements and much more.

A vision for Pravasi Malayalis

Rajendran brought is vision to work towards the welfare and betterment of his community in the UAE and the Middle East, when he launched the the Kerala Pravasi Association – India’s first national political party led by expatriates, with the sole aim of working towards the welfare and rehabilitation of expatriates from Kerala and towards the vision of creating a ‘Self Reliant Kerala through Pravasi’s’. In his role as National Council Chairman, he continues to contribute to the well-being of his community and make a positive impact on the lives of many Keralites. The Kerala Pravasi Association, which has a presence in 14 districts, aims to implement the visions of expatriates in 36 areas related to the daily lives of the people of this country.

These include : Expatriate Welfare, Poverty Alleviation, Agriculture Sector, Dairy Development, Fisheries Development, Environmental Protection, Industrial Sector, Manufacturing, Public Sector Enterprises, Micro Small Enterprises, Medium Enterprises, Food Processing Sector,  Traditional Sectors, Information Technology, Tourism, Startups, Human Resource Development and Job Opportunities in Diaspora, Education Sector, Unemployment Eradication, Skill Development, Old Age Care, Health Sector, Nursing and Public Health, Drinking Water, Infrastructure Development, Transport Background, Energy Sector, Clean Kerala, Insurance Cover, Renewable Energy, Electric Vehicles, Drug Free Kerala, E-Governance, Women Safety (Kerala Sri), E- Distribution and Residential Security. Rajendran has also laynced the “Kerala Pravasi Association Trust” in each of these governing bodies with the help of persons who have the expertise in each sector.
